Barren Expanse (Working Title)

A deckbuilding strategy game inspired by Dominion and Settlers of Catan

The game plays 2 to 5 players, it takes 60 to 90 minutes to play.  Everything needed to try the game is included in the download files. 

This game is in its very early prototype stage. Art assets are placeholders, with card art from Dextrous and icons from Kenney’s board game packs. The map, cards, and gameplay are subject to change as the game evolves.

In Barren Expanse, players explore a unique map each game. Collect limited resources to build structures and walls before resources run out.

This is a prototype game that is a downloadable file. The first is the Game Rules

 Barren Expanse version 2 is all of the cards needed to play the game.

Install instructions

Simply print the "Barren Expanse Version 2 Pdf" and cut out the Card components for the game grab a meeple and game pieces and your friends and you are ready to play. There is a survey link at the bottom of the rules for providing feedback.

The PDF "Meeples and pieces" contains pieces that can be used if you do not have peices. I have found that the game peices needed for Settlers of Catan works well for the game pieces. You do not need to download this is you want to use different parts to play and represent the different pieces.
